Start and Finish Locations

The start, finish and lap location for the event will be the new world class Maitland Regional Athletics Track on the eastern end of High St. The track has excellent facilities and will allow great access to the field for runners nad spectators.

6.30am - 10.45am - Race office - The Maitland Regional Athletics Centre at the eastern end of High St Maitland.

Please collect your race at least 30 minutes before your race start.(Noting that start line is 50m from our admin area)

8km Adult - $75 (early bird until 18 March minus $10, late entry after 20 May plus $10)

8km Child - $55 (early bird until 18 March minus $10, late entry after 20 May plus $10)

4km Adult - $65 (early bird until 18 March minus $10, late entry after 20 May plus $10)

4km Child - $45 (early bird until 18 March minus $10, late entry after 20 May plus $10)

Course Distances

The event offers a 4km run/walk course in either the 1 Lap 4km course, 2 lap 8km course or 3 lap 12km course.
The Maitland Mile has been cancelled for 2023 due to lack of interest.

The Half Marathon course is now 5 laps of the main course plus a 1.1km section at the start.

Race Categories

Ages are as on race day 4 June . Male and female age categories will be:
Children: 6-11(4 and 8km only), 12-13,14-15, 16-17
Adults: 18-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+
Plaques for finisher medals awarded to 1st, 2nd and 3rd in each category.

Children

Children over 5 years are eligable to enter the 4km. Children over 8 years are eligible for the 8km race. Only children aged 12 years or older can be entered in the 12km run. All children under 12 years should be accompanied by an adult. Strollers are permitted in the event, however parents with strollers should start at the rear of the pack and at all times allow runners/walkers to pass them.

Race Timing

H Events will be timing the event with the world famous Trident timing system. Computer timing chips will be distributed to each competitor. You must wear the chip on your shoe, laced into the shoe. Please remember NO CHIP equals NO RESULT. Interim times will be available soon after the last competitor is finished. Timing chips must be returned at the end of the race in the bins provided before you leave the race compound. Timing chips not returned will incur a replacement fee of $50.00.

Use of Ipod

We do not encourage the use of ipods that do not allow runners to hear marshal and safety instructions. If a protest is made by another competitor you may be disqualified. This rule is to make the event safe and fun.

Race Presentation

The race presentation will again be made at the end of the 4km event. If you are unable to stay for the presentation, race awards can be collected from the admin area approx. 20 min after you have finished and results are confirmed.

Left Bag security

A secure bag area will be provided at the Start/Finish area for athletes to leave their personal belongings while racing. This will be a self collect and no contact system.

Parking

There is ample parking in the Athletics Centre and adjoining park off the eastern end of High St Maitland. Do NOT park in the PCYC car park!

Spectators

Spectators are welcome, however due to COVID, please limit crowding. In particular in the start and finish area. There are plenty of vantage points around the track away from the start and finish area and we encourage you to socially distance.

Drink Stations

There is one drink station approx 2km into the course and also at the finish line area as you run through your laps. Normal cups will again be used. Both water and electrolytes will be distributed at drink stations

First Aid

Medical personnel will be available at the start, on the course and finish Race compound.

Prizes

Finishers Medals are available for all finishers. Plaques for Finisher Medals will be awarded to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd prizes in all age categories and overall Male and Female winners.

Wheelchair Participants
